THE LAND GARDENERS

Henrietta Courtauld and Bridget Elworthy established The Land Gardeners to research plant and soil health through growing, cutting and designing.

The mission of The Land Gardeners is to work with gardeners and farmers to improve the health of our land – creating beautiful, healthy plants, gardens, and farms brimming with biodiversity and life – all founded on healthy soil.

We design productive gardens - wild, romantic and joyful - and restore walled and historic gardens in England, France, Italy, New Zealand and Zimbabwe. We grow organic English cut flowers.

We also run workshops, exploring healthy plants, healthy soil and biodiverse, living gardens.

With their instinctive flair, Elworthy and Courtauld established cutting gardens that bring the deep poetry of organic flowers to their enthusiastic customers.”

been london x THE LAND GARDENERS

The Land Gardeners have joined forces with Been London to create two new bags inspired by items The Land Gardeners use and need day to day, whether gardening, attending meetings or travelling. Collectively, we wanted the bags to be versatile and beautiful, and all about the craft, material and purpose. They are perfect gifts for those who like us, love gardening, and value style, functionality and eco-conscious design. Now available in our shop.

“I’ve always admired Bridget and Henrietta’s incredible work with soil. Sustainability and impact aside, there’s no other duo in the world who make compost look so stylish! So when they approached us with the idea of creating a gardening bag that could also be a handbag - that was a match made in heaven and a lovely design challenge for us as a team.” - - Genia Mineeva, Founder, BEEN London

Climate Compost inoculum is a solution. Abundant in naturally occurring soil microbes, using just a pinch of this inoculum we can sequester carbon more effectively in our soils and increase the nutrient density of the produce we grow. Creating stronger, healthier, more resilient plants. A little goes a long way.
